Summer in a nutshell

If i were to sum up my summer this year and describe it in one word, it would be phenomenal. Seriously, this has been the best summer yet. Totally opposite to what was expected, and I am extremely thankful for that...for expecting that it would be the worst summer of my life, because things always appear to be better when you expect less.

I feel that I have grown so much. In many ways I have seen more of the world, met many more people, realised and learnt so much, that i leave home this year feeling that my soul is enriched. I must thank God for his revelation.

Some visuals:

This summer ....

1. I Worked for the very first time at Cheu Clinic for a month.

Really good experience and it really opens your eyes to a lot of things. Saw some unpleasant things too but I like weird stuff. Furthermore, I think it's really interesting to see someone have their ear syringed, or test urine for offshore workers and divers.

Sorry no pictures as it didn't occur to me to take any at that point.

2. Uncle Cheu took me to Kuching with his family for the Universiti Malaya Class of 1982 reunion.

We stayed in The Hilton and we got an awesome view of the river.

Uncle Cheu with some of his mates from Uni

The place was very well decorated. The rose petals and orchids are real! The dinner was rainforest themed, hence the flowers and leaves.

Auntie Selina and I.
A leopard print dress is not exactly 'rainforest' but sometimes u gotta bend the rules a lil'!

All in all, I had a great time meeting uncle's friends. They are such a funny bunch!

2. I Interned with SSB

Hrm... let me see. Working was boringboringboringboringboringboringboringboringboring. lol
I spent two months working here and liked it quite a lot despite how I was so not used to it when i started. From this i have gained a lot in terms of self development and also met some nice people. It also made me realise how life is more complicated than it seems, but at the end of the day, i believe life is however complicated you make it.

Can't believe i had to desk hop. That made working so much more inconvenient. This room was my comfort zone as i like to put it. And the person behind me is my source of comfort. =)

Tea time for the employee(s) who feel they need a break, in addition to breakfast time in the morning too. *then that leaves about 6 hours of working time. Employees are really overpaid for the amount of effort they put into their work it seems. Perhaps the best time of the day when you are in good company.

Random drink at cafe with Andy, Jonathan and Alan the day before i left for UK.

4. I had my 19th birthday dinner at KokChee, my favourite restaurant of all time.

Title is self explanatory i guess. No need for wishy washy *gosh i wonder where i picked up this term from lol.

Is mata juling hereditary?

Yin and Yang

Candid moment

Thank you John for the cake. I would kill for a piece right now.

Just because the colours are nice.

Thanks for all the thoughtful wishes on facebook and friendster and sending me texts too. Love you all!

5. We went to Curtin Open Day

Nothing really interesting here. Met some new people, step foot in the campus for the first time, too many bloody people, too bloody hot, too bloody hot. Perhaps the only reason we went was because we heard that we could win Ipods and Nintendo Wiis if we took a quiz and answered the questions right. Sadly they were the prizes for the lucky draw. And I NEVER have any luck with lucky draws. The only thing i ever got was a table fan.

With Sunny and Uncle Johnny Leong who's son Alan is now in Manchester on Shell Scholarship!

6. Went down to KL to see Lynnie and Boey

Thanks for the great time and the sinfully delicious brownie omg!! And thanks Boey for your hospitality and your time and Lynnie too, for coming out to lunch despite your tight lunch hours and the treat too. Really appreciate it!

Lynnie, I look like a giant next to you. And i look spastic.

Brown bear.

Chocolate cake OMG!

6. I had super good food at KokChee for my farewell thanks to Mr John Tang.

Now, i have another reason to love KokChee even more.

John in his new old Dunhill. Those are big boss specs don't play play.

The big kid, my Ricky gor gor.

HAHAHAHA

7. I hope i managed to lose some weight

I'm sure you know how much of a shocker i went home as. I basically devoted t this summer to lose weight! You have no idea..

June 2007

September 2007

Okay la.. Of course i chose a pic of me looking damn fat and the thinnest pic i could find of myself. And no, i didn't use photoshop so they are all real! Though the two pictures aren't comparable as my face is angled differently but i still lost bout 8 kg ok!

So there it is, in a nutshell. I'll throw in some more pictures should i have a little free time on my hands.

Random thought:
Oh and how i miss my darling so...

I hope you are behaving you naughty girl!
